The city I live in

I moved to London in 2000, this is my 12th year here and I love it. London has given me so much and I am so grateful for it all.
London in my eyes is THE best city in the world and wherever Husband and I have been and whereever we will go in the future I will always compare it to London. I was born and raised in Stockholm, lived there for 23 years, but it never felt like home. I never felt like I fitted in when I was living in Stockholm, London makes me feel like I can be me. If I want to be left alone I will be, If I want attention I can get that. It has everuthing I look for in a home.
When I first moved here Husband had left a deposit on a flat for me to live in in Holland Park, West London. I never made it that far as he was in the process of buying a flat to rent out in Surrey Quays, Southeast London. On the transferbus to our hotel in Dominican Republic he asked me if I wanted to live with him and of course I said YES.
I am an east London girl at heart as it makes me feel at home and it is similar to where I am from. It is comfortable :-) We have now moved into the house his parents bought when they moved here from Sarajevo. The postcode says Ilford but it's really northeast London. The dream is to move to Wanstead, we know where we want to live, what street and all. Everything that we like is there: Starbucks ;-), Zoology, the butchers, the doctors, the park and playground for Astrid :-)
I know this isn't so much about London as it is about MY LONDON. I have a list of shops, shopping centres, cafes, restaurants and hotels I like to go to which is all over London. This post is more about why I like it here.
xoxo
