Last night was date night and we had dinner at Picture on Great Portland Street. We had the six course taster menu with a champagne cocktail and a bottle of red wine. It was sooooooo good!! I'm not a food person, I eat to survive but last nighta dinner was excellent :-)
It's very minimalistically designed, dark and cosy. We were unfortunate to have been seated next to a table of six drunk and loud Americans. There were moments when I could hear myself think they were so loud and when Husband went to the toilet downstairs he could still hear them!
but it was one of the best dates we've had, got a little bit tipsy and chatted away ;-)
We had a lunchdate with Husband/Pappa. Astrid has started to ask where Pappa is working and how do you explain "at the office" to a almost three year old girl? So I decided to take her there so she could see for herself! This sounds very spontaneous but believe me it's not! Takes weeks of planning and asking and making sure Husband has a few hours free in the ever so busy work calendar ;-)
After the office visit and then lunch we took the overground to Hoxton and Fabrique for amother coffee and a cinnamon bun, Swedish style, before heading home again...
I'm totally exhausted now but it was a very good day :-)
On Saturday we were invited to K and J's 40th birthday party in their garden, last day of summer perhaps? Husband was working, so A and I took the car and drove for just over an hour to the other side of town and enjoyed the last few rays of sunshine :-D
We stayed for three hours and it took us an hour and 20 minutes to get home. We arrived at our house just before Husband who was driving from Manchester. I was exhausted by the time we got home but I was happy I went. It's always good to see K, J and the kids, my godchildren.
