Girls night out outfi...
Husband and I always celebrate Valentine's Day somehow, as it's when Husband propsed all those years ago. Last night we were discussing gifts and I said that I am not expecting a blue box this year as he has spent alot of money helping me with my business.
Then this arrived with the post this morning
so maybe it's a sign that I should get a little blue box on the most romantic day of the year :-P
We usually go out to dinner but this year both of our babysitters are in relationships and so we are going to Sandersons Hotel for Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea.
Many outfits to plan, as it s a daytime thing which makes it a little bit more tricky...

These pictures are at a total random order. Astrid and I went to London Bridge to pick up A's cousin I for a weekend of girlie fun. We went to Pizza Express in Westfields for lunch, the to Primark and H&M for some retail therapy (don't know how much therapy you might need at the age of 8 and 2?)
After the exhausting shopping, it was time for a posh hot chocolate and a strawberry tart at Caffe Concerto
On Sunday it was time to drop I home again and to eat a lovely feast for lunch. We had oysters, curry and coq au vin before it was time to drive home to us again.
A lovely weekend with some of the most important people in our lives. Family is everything to us...

One of Astrids favourite things to do at home is to paint and luckily the paint bottles at Mothercare are very inexpensive, £1 for regular paint per bottle and £1.75 for the ones with glitter paint in them. As you can probably imagine, we now have a good collection of paint (but always in need of more of course).
We cover the diningtable with a colouful waxcloth and off we go, paints away, you get the picture :-)
Now thats has almost stopped her nappng, we have to find other things to keep her happy and painting is just one of the things she likes. We also dance (try to anyway), jump on the miniature trampoline in her playroom as well as spend a lot of time in the park and on playdates. The girl has a busy social life ;-)

Sparkly
This year I have decided will be a good year. For our family and our friends. It will also be the year that I stop being lazy and do the things I want to do and see the people I want to see. More fun, less alcohol, less spending and more friends and family time.
I decided to leave the car at home when Astrid and I had a coffee date with Seema and S at Lily's Indulgence in South Woodford. Astrid and I had a cupcake and a macaron
before we went back on the tube to go to Wanstead. We got off at Snaresbrook and walked up the high street, where I also took a few photographs.
We also went to the park for some fun on the swings before taking the tube home. We were outside for 6 hours in total. It involved a lot of carrying the pushchair up and down lots of stairs but I felt good when we got home, like I had done something good for me and for Astrid.
Its not easy travelling on the underground here in London as it is not pushchair friendly with all its stairs. I have stopped expecting help from my fellow passengers and so our outings are alot more pleasant when I only have myself to rely on.
The only other place I have travelled with a pushchair alone with Astrid is in Stockholm and the tube there has stairs and lifts at every station and the buses are free of charge for buggy travellers. Silly to compare really :-D

Retro-ish
This all happened a day last week. Shirin and I met uo to go to Hummingbird Bakery in Liverpool street for cupcakes, coffee and a chat.
When we were stuffed and high on sugar it was time for some street style photos off Cheshire street, East London

I usually make an arse of myself when we do this so we have loads of fun and lots and lots of laughter :-) I love these heels, but my god are they uncomfortable!! I just had to change to my Converse all stars.
As our next destination was Oxford Street and Selfridges for a belated Chirstmas presnt for me :-D
We ran into my stepbrother as we were on our way to buy cupcakes to my Husband and Astrid. Stopped for chat and then it was time to back to reality and home to pick Astrid up from nursery.
It was a lovely and fun-filled day with my little biatch ;-)

Its a bugs life
Friday morning, I had a breakfast date with Seema and her youngest boy S at Caffe Concerto in Westfields.
Its a lovely cafe chain which looks posher than it actually is and we stayed there for two gorgeous hours :-) A great change from Starbucks and its fast service.
